AWANA
Kim Smith and Sandy Adkins are the AWANA directors at NHBC.
They are dedicated to ministering to the children at New Hope!

WHAT IS AWANA?
The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase “Approved workmen are not ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15).
The AWANA ministry is:
· An international, nondenominational Bible-centered children’s ministry
· Committed to the evangelism and discipleship of children and youth
· Effective at getting the gospel into the homes of unsaved families
· An outward-focused ministry that can bring energy and growth into the church
· Focused on missions
The AWANA ministry embraces five principals:
· AWANA is centered on the gospel
· Scripture memory is key element
· AWANA is exciting and fun
· Children are trained to serve
· AWANA is built on volunteer leadership
We have age appropriate classes for all ages including babies and pre-schoolers. The following classes meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:00:
· Puggles Class – babies – 2 years old
· Cubbies Class – ages 3 and 4 year olds
· Sparks Class – Kindergarten – second grad
· T & T Class – Third – sixth grade
Each class rotates to incorporate Scripture memorization, lesson time, game time, snack time and council time for the T & T classes.
